I have spent my career stepping up for students when it matters most—from co-authoring national guidance on human trafficking prevention in 2014 to leading countywide efforts to protect vulnerable youth. I will bring that same commitment, experience, and accountability to the board.

WHY I’M RUNNING

Our schools should be safe, supportive, and focused on preparing every student for what comes next.

Right now, too many decisions are pulling us away from that goal. We have seen the elimination of our School Safety Department, the loss of credentialed librarians, and the reduction of critical instructional systems and student support.

I am running for the Board of Trustees because our students cannot afford leadership that loses sight of what matters most.

I am not a career politician. I am a deeply invested member of this community and a professional who dedicated nearly 15 years of my career to working within this school district. I attended school here, raised my daughters here, and watched them thrive through ASB, athletics, and their education at Grossmont High School and Grossmont Middle College. Today, I see our schools through their eyes as they serve as teachers right here in East County.

With four grandchildren—and another on the way—who will attend our schools, this is personal for me. I am running because I have both the lived experience and professional background to bridge the gap between the boardroom and the classroom.

A Classroom-First Approach

Comprehensive School Safety

Having served on the Santana High School recovery team after the tragic school shooting in 2001, I understand that true safety requires leadership, preparation, and systems that protect every student and staff member. I will work to restore a strong, dedicated safety infrastructure across our district.

Restoring Student and Instructional Support

Libraries, curriculum experts, and student support services are essential—not optional. Our students deserve access to the tools, care, and instruction that prepare them for success beyond high school. Our teachers deserve the best instructional support available.

Classroom First Budgeting

I will prioritize the people and services that directly impact students. Board compensation should reflect the same standards we expect for our staff. We must ensure our financial decisions align with our values, putting our limited resources where they belong: in the classroom.

Fiscal Accountability and Community Integrity

Taxpayer dollars should be spent on students, not on politics or avoidable legal settlements. I will advocate for responsible, common-sense decision making that protects our resources, strengthens our programs, and reflects the values of our East County community.

Restoring Respect and Professionalism

Our school board should reflect the values we expect in our classrooms. I will bring professionalism and decorum back to the dais, governing in the light and ending the era of secret agendas and private text threads. I will prioritize a true partnership with parents, ensuring every voice is heard and treated with the dignity you are owed.

Community Partnerships and Grant Funding

I will partner with expert community agencies to meet student needs, leveraging grants and outside funding to offset budget deficits and protect the general fund from cuts to student programs.
